Best Value MPV for larger families, cant fault it.

I looked at decent 7 seat MPVs for the family (not one of the pokey cramped ones like a Grandis or Vauxhall etc), but a genuine one where you could move about without getting a cramp, but was shocked at how much some cost new, i.e a Grand Voyager was an eye watering £34k, a Mereceds Viano £30k. I just so happend to be passing a dealership which specialise in Limos and Taxis, and happend to see the Expert Tepee. They had one that was kitted out with all the modcons, i.e. aircon, tinted windows, bluetooth, satnav, DVD player, electric everything and upgraded seats, and it looked the business, so was expecting a similar price tag to the above. I was therefore surprised when they said £22k!. The fuel economy on a Viano or Grand Voyager was about 25 urban, whereas the Diesel Peugeot was about 48 - and was half the road tax!. I also managed to negotiate a discount, so ended up getting a stock one for under £20k!. Having used it now for 9 months I can honestly say it is the best £20k I have spent. Its cheaper to run than my smaller Mitsubishi Grandis or Audi A4, its very nippy, great driving position, and the front passenger can even nip into the back to chastise the kids without having to leave the vehicle!. There is more room and compartments than you could ever imagine, and have even gotten 52 MPG on the motorway. As I said, I cant fault it, and judging by some researched comments before I bought it, the build quality and reliability of the new model is infinitely superior - as I have had no issues whatsoever. I love it!

i purchaced this car in october 2008 . 07 plate on 22k. my intention was to use it for my private hire business as it ticked all the boxes. loads of luggage space, 7 passenger seats and the renouned peugeot 2.0lt hdi engine. unfortunatley as with many other taxi drivers this car fell well short of our expectations. within the first 60k i had the power steering pump / fly wheel / clutch/ anti roll bar and link arms replaced. since then i had the fly wheel replaced again on 120k with the anti roll bar and top suspention mount replaced. just before christmas the EGR valve failed at a cost of £490 on 127k.

when running well , this car is great.. everything i could ask for but its not made well enough for taxi work. Fuel consumption is good considering the weight of the car 32 about town and 36 - 38 on a nice steady run. the 6th gear is great and you can cruise at 80mph at just about 2500rpm. replacement discs and pads start at £180.00 , over £200 if you go to peugeot. i get about 30k per set, as i do 50k plus a year it adds up. tyres are about £75 each for an 8 ply van tyre. servicing is ok to do yourself. a lot of parts are still main dealer only though. peugeot have, i believe, switched to a fixed fly weel for the 2010 model in an attempt to improve reliability. i would recomment this car for a large family who do average mileage. dont get an 07 / 08 model if you are a taxi driver. im going back to an old 806
