I am an Engineering Consultant and use the car every day for work. I drive between 700 and a 1000 miles a week. The trim is black leather and the car is fully loaded with gadgets ( too many to list ) I have had it for 3 years and has never seen a garage for repair. It is very easy to drive, and my only complaints are the boot is on the small side for an estate and the sat nav will not accept post codes

Pros and Cons from a ten year owner
PEUGEOT 407 2.0 HDi 136 SV 5dr (Review date: 19th March '11)

Pros:
As a taxi driver, I have owned Peugeots now for about twenty two years, I think this speaks for itself.
The 407 diesel Estate is good value for money and a very good car to drive it has all the gimmicks some of them very useful and some quite annoying particularly the tyre pressure sensors.
Cons:
The boot area is nothing likes as roomy as the the old 406.
The particle filter can be quite annoying but dont let the main dealer tell you that this needs changing at a cost of around £600.00, if you know a good reliable local garage the filter can be removed and cleaned out with traffic film removing fluid and then dryed out and reffited
A bit of advise if you buy a Peugeot, when ever possible avoid taking your car to the main agents for servicing and repairs, these places bring Dick Turpin to mind.

Bought from new I have now driven 140000 miles and it hasn't missed a beat. With loads of electronic gizmos on board I am definately looking to have another one when this one dies but the way it is going at the moment I am loath to change it for a while yet.
Economy is amazing especially when the cruise control is activated.
It is always an absolute pleasure to drive.
Would really recommend them!

WELL WORTH BUYING IF YOU CAN AFFORD THE RUNNING COSTS
PEUGEOT 407 2.2 Executive 5dr (Review date: 4th March '11)

An excellent all round car, looks sylish & has lots of gadgets and great to drive, the 2.2l petrol engine is very responsive but can be a bit expensive to run on short trips but is great on long journeys.
Reliability has never been an issue for me - the car starts every time, even in last winters -12 temperatures it just shrugged it off and never let me down.
Parking it is a little hard due to length & bad rear visability but the rear parking sensers help no end.
I have a family of 5 (2 adults-3 kids) and this easily accomodates most needs, it is spacious both in the front & back seats and will easily carry 5 adults comfortably.
The built in sat nav is great, gives good clear instructions and is mosty acurate although it would be better with postcode entry format.
The ride and handling is ok but it has to be said it tends to roll a little on long sweeping bends and handles better around bends with some weight in the boot.
overall it is a car well worth having if you want a practical family car for long trips - bit expensive to run if used for school runs & shopping.

Peugeot 407 SW. Good and fast aceleration
comfortable to drive and to handle
Good looking car in nice metalic grey
Has a fitted phone and sat nav makes driving easy and safe
Has cruise control to help with fuel use is generally light on diesel
It has rear parking sensors with are a godsend it could do with some on front also as the bonnet is long and sloping which makes it difficult to see where it ends
It has a hidden boot which is good for security
The front seats are heated and electrically controlled for compfort
