140,000 and still going!!

PEUGEOT 106 1.5 XLD 3dr (Review date: 28th August '11)

4.8

I bought my Pug 106 5 years ago and have used it for commuting and have taken it on long drives on holidays (sometimes with a surfboard strapped to the top!) several times. Its now done 140,000miles and has never let me down. Has needed some general wear and tear things replacing but understandable for the age of it.

I love this car and would reccommend it to anyone who wants a cheep, small run around or something that is economical on the motorway. Im not sue what the MPG is but I can get 550+ miles out of a tank if driven economically mainly on the motorway. It can also fit three bags of woodshavings for my horses stable in it with the seats down...try that in a modern supermini!!!

My First car

PEUGEOT 106 1.1 Independence 3dr (Review date: 27th July '11)

This was my first car, i have to comment on the economy of the drive as i work 16 miles away i love the drive and spend £20 a week on fuel and do 200 miles plus, cheap insurance, this was our first car before we bought a 7 seater but we were able to take out the partial shelf and fit both of our labradors and 2 kids in the car to go places however left no room for pushchairs haha, so space is an issue if you have a big family like me now.

Overall the comfort of the car is ok however due to a prolapsed dics i need power steering and even more comfortable a ride with newer suspension, but for someone who spends 7 hours plus in it a week i still enjoy driving.

Oh one more thing, its not the quickest top end but nippy enough to overtake with ease.

Brilliant!

PEUGEOT 106 1.1 Zest2 5dr (Review date: 24th July '11)

I have had 2 peugeot 106's and they have both been amazing and I would recommend them for anyone!!

My first 106 was a 1994 version, cost me £150 to buy it, had it a whole year without anything going wrong!! Even though I bought it off a boy racer who treated it very poorly! When it finally died I got £100 back in scrap for it!!

My next car was a 1998 106, this has now lasted me 2 years! Without anything going wrong at all, I had one puncture and that cost me £10 to repair. Unfortunely I now have to sell it and its breaking my heart!! Truely, if Peugeot has a 2005 version of this car I would buy it.

The parts for 106's are very cheap, I mean very! Tax is quite expensive for a small car, mines currently around £130 a year. Insurance is good for a new driver, but I think could be better for such a small car.

I think the main advantage of the 106's are there petrol range, I always got 200 miles out of £20, it also never uses too much water or oil.. I've only replaced it a few times!

Anyway I cannot sing enough for the 106's I'm really truely going to be sad to let mine go

Fantastic little run about with great fuel consumption!

PEUGEOT 106 1.1 XL Independence 3dr (Review date: 21st July '11)

4.8

Great little car for a first time buyer, easy to drive and fantastic on fuel!! A real little gem!!

Would not say it was suitable for Mum/Dad with small kids who are in Child seats, could be difficult. Older kids able to jump in and strap themselves in, it is perfect!

Apart from that it is a great wee runner and great on fuel. Low tax and insurance.

CD player and Imobiliser fitted.

Well worth a look!!

great first car

PEUGEOT 106 1.1i XN Graduate Cat 5dr (Review date: 12th July '11)

4.5

the 106 is a brilliant car the only problems i have ever had with it in the 4 years i have owned it have been age related, for example needing a few new parts because of wear and tear. It has always run well and drives fine, it isn't the quietest car around but i didn't expect anymore from a 16year old car. Overall i have loved driving the 106 and would recommend it highly as a cheap, convenient, reliable first car.

Perfectly Practical

PEUGEOT 106 1.5 D Aztec Hatchback 3dr (Review date: 10th July '11)

4.3

This car is perfect for a young buyer, it is practical and goes a long way on one tank of petrol. The car is 16 years old so it does have a few scratches and dints on the outside, but the inside interior is fine. This car has been in my family since it was brand new and there have never been any major problems with it. I use the car most days and it is use to being on the motorway. It is power steering but this is not hard to get use to and helps you stay in control of the car.
