I have a Nissan Almera S 1.5 and it is one of the best cars I have ever had. It drives very smooth & is very reliable. The running cost is also cheap and specially very low maintainance cost. The model of Almera that I have doesn't have a cam belt so it is a big relief and no worry after it crosses £70000 miles.

I bought this when I was made redundant, 67k miles with 12 months mot for £950 and it's been the bargain of the century.
What the car isn't is "sporty" or interesting but it's smooth riding reliable and cheap to run.
The only problem is that I can't justify getting rid of it because nothing will be quite such good value ever again

Great Family Car
NISSAN ALMERA 1.5 E 5dr (Review date: 4th March '11)

This was my Third car before I had a VW Polo and a Vauxhal Corsa. The Almera is a great car for a young family or someone after a large hatchback.
pros:
very reliable as you'd expect from Nissan
lots of room in both the front a rear seats
big boot
low sporty driving position
1.5ltr engine is the smallest in the almear but it pulls very well and is economical
very nice interior
cons:
big fuel tank does cost £70 to fill but has a 430 mile range
firm suspension
quiet a long car compared to the Ford Focus can make parking tricky
Nissan genuine parts are a little pricey

The Nissan Almera has been a good car to me for several years now. I am impressed by its styling, with neat little touches including nissan body kit, attractive lights and nice dials.
As usual, Nissan has provided a good engine which can feel quite nippy at times considering it is only 1.5ltr. Running costs are managable especially when the price of fuel is rising so rapidly.
As an every day car it has suited me very well, doing plenty of miles with relative ease.
The downsides have been an air con unit which needed repair twice, a CD player which was replaced twice (in the end i fitted my own cd player to save any more hassle) and it likes to have new front brake discs fitted more often than usual with a car of this type.
The steering at times can be too light, and the gearbox too loose, but overall a pleasant drive for most journeys.
Overall the Nissan Almera has been a good car to own, with just a few little problems here and there.
