MITSUBISHI SPACE STAR 1.9 DI-D Mirage 5dr (Review date: 19th May '14)
I bought my (02) model after reading the rave reviews and I have to say I am most impressed. It isn't the prettiest car but it is nippy, comfortable and so economical! Whizzing round the M25 at the weekend it averaged 66 mpg (diesel). My only gripe which is not the vehicle's fault is I would like the drivers seat to be slightly higher as I have arthritis and can find it difficult getting in and out. However, i am so impressed with its reliability and economy (and comfortable drive even at higher speeds) I would definitely buy another Mitsubishi.

I've owned over 10 cars in 35 years of driving. This was one of the best which is why I kept it for 6 of those 35 years. A very practical car. It will seat 4 adults and there luggage comfortably. The seats are good, firm but with enough give not to be hard. No issues travelling from Chester to Winchester. Will sit at 70mph all day on the motorway without excessive cabin noise. The interior is well put together...no rattling trim. Enough equipment for the class of car it is. Really voluminous with the back seats down (have delivered a fridge and a washing machine which this car, but not I hasten to add, at the same time!). The auto box is smooth and having the manual override is useful especially on steep hills. Servicing costs (at an independent garage) were reasonable.
On the downside, the main issue is not really the car's fault...it falls into VED Class J - £250 (June 2012). And, I have to say, the headlights were never the best.
Simply a very practical car, in my experience a reliable one too...only issues have been very minor, picked up at MOT time and the result of fair wear and tear.

Have had this car -secondhand-for some six years & with the exception of replacing the tyres in this period up to date have had no serious expense. I do many short mileages & still find this reliable even the coldest weather we have had ice/snow it invariably starts first time. with the centre seat belt I find this ideal for holding a disabled wheelchair or use for 3rd passenger. considering stop/start for low mileage it is also very economical, comfortable to drive. I would fully recommend the Mitsibishi Space star for small familys, one drawback & the only one that I have come across is the lack of boot space without having to pull the back seats down.
Mitsubishi Spacestar is a pleasure to drive
MITSUBISHI SPACE STAR 1.6 Equippe E 5dr Auto (Review date: 16th January '12)
My Mitsubishi Spacestar (automatic) is my favourite of all the cars I had (previous ones were Fords). It is a pleasure to drive, very easy to handle, really comfortable, has lots of space inside, but not too big when it comes to parking. It's reliable and with regular checks and service requires very little maintenance. It is not the cheapest car in terms of fuel or tax, as it is an automatic and has 1.6 engine, but I wouldn't change it for anything else.
Solid, reliable family car
MITSUBISHI SPACE STAR 1.9 DI-D S 5dr (Review date: 19th June '11)
I found this car ideal when I had teenagers, shopping etc. to cart around. It has plenty of umph without guzzling too much diesel. It never went wrong, it was flexible (the back seats move back and forward to allow for more leg room or boot space, according to needs). For its age it's in great nick (apart from a few stone chips and small scratches)

Was in love with this car the mpment I bought it, and the affection has never wained. After 3 years of manufacturers agreed servicing it became too expensive to go to a Mitsubishi outlet so we settle on our reliable and local garage who have serviced our car each year. The car maintains a superb drive, it has never let us down. Maintains a very good economy - around 55+mpg at motorway speeds and 45+ round town. Starts first time ... not a lot more to say really ... would still have it but we going off on a narrowboat for a couple of years and it not a good idea to leave our car lying around doing nothing, so sadly we selling her ....

Bought this car from new 8 years ago. There have only been minor upkeep costs i.e. tyres, windscreen wipers, brake pads in all that time. I've done nearly 90,000 miles and find it is comfortable, reliable, easy to get in and out of and would buy a new one if it was still available. The only minor complaint is the fan which is slow to work on de-icing the windscreen. Probably would keep this one if I wasn't going on the motability scheme.
Very good runner spacious and fantabuluos.

Actually this is my second buy I find it lovely just because it's automatic am selling it as am in love with antiques cars.
It doesn't suit my lifestyle because of it's fuel consumption compared to my first car as it had a smaller engine so I find it a little expensive to maintain though not much difference but all in all its a good runner with good milage comfortable interior.
