A great little car
MINI ONE 1.4 One 3dr Auto (Review date: 16th February '12)

I downsized from a powerful BMW 3 series recently to a Mini & have to say that overall I'm very pleased to have done so. These days I mostly use my car for local journeys and so no longer need something that is super comfortable if you're in it for a long time. Mini is so much more economical for this sort of life style - both in terms of fuel consumption, servicing & road tax. There are rarely more than 2 of us so I don't mind the rather restriced space in the back, and because the rear seats fold down I can usually get everything I need into it. So far it has been very reliable - even in the worst of the winter weather. It drives nicely, although being small it doesn't cope with the bad roads as well as the BMW & I do miss the (probably rather excessive if I'm honest) grunt that the bigger car had.

Swapped my Nissan Primera for the above, couldn´t have more different in size. BUT what a quality car. I live in Tenerife so the car doesn´t have to do long journeys, the island is only 70 x 40 miles. I am thoroughly enjoying being stared at, with all the packs it is an eye-catcher. It is also great fun to drive, plenty of pace, marvellous road holding. Although the air conditioning is permanently on I´m still getting 50m.p.h. This will be the first of many minis.

Bought this car brand new and it's served me so well. It's never let me down, very efficient, low maintenance and so much fun to drive. Don't be deceived by it's size, this car has a lot of go in it!
It's got me through 2 very harsh winters with no problems. I'm sticking with Mini for good! :)

Absolutely love this car, brilliant to drive really economical and easy to maintain. Unfortunately it was our only car and became unsuitable for us when we had a baby, it was fine when it was just me and the baby but not very good for the whole family to use for trips away etc. Very sorry to have to change it.
Never had any problems with it and the local Mini garage were brilliant. Overall a fabulous little car, much missed little min.

MINI ONE 1.6 One Pimlico 3dr (Review date: 18th August '11)
4.5
Took delivery of my Mini One Pimlico in June 2011 and I love it. I traded in a new shape Ford KA which I owned for all of twelve months, although it looked nice it had poor visibility out the rear and tended to kangaroo on low rev's!
The Mini's great, the engine is smooth and visibility good. The car, which is in laser blue, looks fantastic with it's15" alloy wheels. Around town it's achieving 42 MPG which, for a 1.6 isn't bad. Acceleration is good with brilliant road holding. Inside there is a DAB audio system with single CD player and IPod connectivity, there is also bluetooth for those important phone calls! It has climate control and the all important interior 'mood lighting'.
I think I'll be sticking with my Mini for a good few years to come, as I said previously I LOVE IT.

Fun to drive!
MINI ONE 1.6 One 3dr (Review date: 30th July '11)

Mini's truly are great cars to drive; responsive, nimble around town whilst also being a joy to drive on long motorway journeys. This is my third mini and they have each had their own pros and cons yet I keep coming back for more as its hard to find another car in its class which handles so well.
My first mini (2005) was mainly trouble free with the only issue being a very sticky and noisy gear box. My second (08) was the 1.4 version which was far more economical than the previous as I was usually able to get 52mpg (urban) out of it. It did have a few issues during the time I had it. The main one was its ability to cut out when coming to a stand still. The stop/start feature is only supposed to work when the clutch isn't depressed yet this was not the case with my mini! After 3 years of going back and forth to the dealer a fix was finally found (after the replacement of various valves, it was discovered that the timing need upping!). The car also had electric windows which used to have a life of their own and I did spend an unfortunate hour one night attempting to turn off the alarm which had decided to also to have a life of its own!
My current mini (2010) is as much fun to drive as the others yet once again there are a few issues arising; economy is now only 44mpg (urban), the engine runs very roughly when cold, idling can be erratic in stop start traffic, and the cd player makes whirring noises even when switched off. The mini is a great car as long as you are prepared to face a few trips to the dealer to get them rectified! However, despite this, if you buy a mini you will certainly enjoy the driving experience and this will hopefully make the niggles easier to live with!

Fantastic all round

Drives like a dream, exceptional post sales service from Mini, brilliant economy (worst mpg I ever clocked was 45mpg in the middle of winter when it was -10C), and has a lot more power to it then you think.
What's more, despite the name, although its only a four seater, there's plenty of room for the four people that it seats. Lovely interior. The only downside I can think is that sometimes you find yourself wishing for a bigger boot, but then it is a Mini.
Best car I've ever had, hand on heart.

A very reliable and fun car to drive. Lacks the space to be a good all rounder. running costs are quite high for a small car. after care from Mini is very good and would consider the new Clubman for more space. only two seats in the back can cause problems. Out on the road its hadels well and is about as much fun as you could have in this price range.
