Nothing will stop it
FORD MAVERICK 2.7 TD Aspen 3dr (Review date: 19th June '14)
Had my Mav for about 5 years now having bought it when it was 10 years old for £500. It's been used off road fairly regularly as well as snowy/icy roads and has never let me down.
He looks a bit tatty now but the engine always starts first time even on cold damp days without the slightest hesitation, everything still works on it and apart from some welding it hasn't cost me much to run either.
I'd definitely buy another as it has to represent the cheapest way of owning a car, even with the higher road tax and fuel consumption.

I rate this 4x4 very highly except for one problem.I recently had to repair some problems to my trailer electrics and in doing so flattened the battery as a consequence I cant restart the vehicle.can anybody enlighten me as how rectify the problem I need to know because this is the second time this problem has happened recently, otherwise I agree with the sentiments expressed in the two earlier reviews.

I love this car, unfortunately it is now to big for us, having 7 seats, as the family has dwindled down from six to three.
It's a very comfortable and easy 4X4 to drive. It has never broken down and I expect it will serve on for many years to come.
The engine is sound and goes really well, whether its just pottering around or going a distance. I just can't fault the Maverick.
Fuel consumption...for a big engine it does quite well at 30mpg.
Insurance is reasonable...with full no claims and going fully comprehensive with one named driver in addition to the main driver
it has cost £190 per year.
The crawler gear is an advantage as you never get stuck, on ice and snow it keeps going and its height means that you can ease through flooded roads where others have stalled. I 100% recommend this vehicle to anyone.
Ford Maverick - Highly Recommended Tow Car!
FORD MAVERICK 2.4i GLX 3dr (Review date: 17th February '11)
I've had my Ford Maverick about 18 months now and it is absolutely fabulous for my lifestyle. I bought it as a tow car to pull a horsebox, but also used it to commute to work over the winter due to the weather.
This car takes £70 to fill a tank with petrol and half a tank lasts me a week, doing about 10 miles a day so it's pretty economical for a 4x4. Tax is expensive as is insurance but that's par for the course with a 4x4.
This car tows fabulously, including in muddy fields. I generally keep it in 2WD but over the winter I used the 4WD High Ratio gearbox in snow and ice and it handled beautifully, never letting me down.
It's a very comfortable drive and very roomy - I can easily fit a bicycle and a dog into the back with the seats down.
I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
