my rust bucket of love
FORD GALAXY 2.0 GLX 7 seat 5dr (Review date: 1st March '11)
It's a little bit rusty and a little unloved.... but enough about my husband. When I was first introduced to my seven seater Galaxy I wasn't impressed, gone were my days of sporty little engines and sexy design. Instead I was faced with the frumpy fatness of my mummy wagon. But as we started to use the Galaxy I begun to fall in love with the galaxy's peace keeping abilities, having seven seats allows me to seperate my arguing offspring. Trips to Ikea have become a pleasure no longer do we get the obligatory car park arguement, instead we drive off looking smug whilst jealous onlookers in saloon cars continue to sqwabble. Unfortunately my galaxy is more thirsty than a room fall of squaddies, but her simple praticality shines through the regualar trips to the pumps. The ability to remove seats completely rather than simply folding them into the floor allows for the car to become a van in a matter of minutes, this means that you can actually hoover the floor with the seat's missing which is fantastic when you have three hobknobs rubbed into your carpet.
Unfortunately, Galaxy has led a hard life and she came to me with a few minor ailment's, she's more incontinent than a bus full of pensioners, her seals leak on the passenger's side. Also her door locks no longer work, but her central locking is still in tact and she's no fighter. She's battled on through petrol shortages and price hikes and she continues to shine everyday. She is a much loved part of my family and my children love her. Although they do still manage to redecorate her interior......
The reliable and spacious Ford Galaxy
FORD GALAXY 1.9 TD 110PS Zetec 7 seat 5dr (Review date: 27th February '11)
I have owned my Ford Galaxy for approximately five years from buying it second hand. In that time it has cost me very little in the way of mechanical maintenence, other that the usual annual ware and tear. It is extremely spacious ( I have removed 2 of the 7 seats to provide me the ultimate space). It is extremely comfortable to drive and there is plenty of room for the passengers. The only problem I have experienced lately is: The clutch is slipping a little and I have a rainwater leak trickling invia the drivers side footwell that I just can't trace? I would recommend this car to any family for its somewhat unusual fuel economy, space and reliability for a car of its size.

i use this car for several journeys a day from work to home driving on the motorway so i use alot of fuel it drives well had no problems with me using it alot in week its not best for a family of 6 as doesn't have alot of space for shopping/pram etc as use the front seat as a boot all the time as can't get the buggy or alot of shopping in the back
Good allround family car

FORD GALAXY GOOD FAMILY CAR BUT RUNNING CAN BE COSTLY
FORD GALAXY 2.3 GLX 7 seat 5dr (Review date: 21st January '11)
This has been a good working family car, however when using all seats the boot can be a little small if you have a pram to put in the back with shopping! But it is manageable, especially if you have a smaller stroller for your baby/toddler!
The seats are very comfortable to ride in [particularly on long journeys] and popular with the kids. A comfortable car to drive also with it picking up speed well on the motor way. In the cold months the heater warms the car rather quickly and runs smoothly if well maintained.
I would say the main drawback in running this car is with its size and age - it can be costly to run from day to day with fuel consumption moderate to high depending on where you are driving [in the city or motor way] [more efficient on the highways]. Insurance and tax can be rather costly in comparison to the actual cost of purchasing the car!
Al-round a good family car if you have a large family and need to run daily activities for kids and use to & from work.
what a family car it is so versatile the army should use them
FORD GALAXY 1.9 TDi 110PS Ghia 7 seat 5dr (Review date: 18th January '11)
i bought the car 2 years ago after my lucida blew up. i thought its a ford i will be repairing it regularly well i forgot it was also built by volkswagon wow in 2 years all i have put on it are brake pads and a track rod end for the mot. we have moved our house twice in it including our 8x6 shed. its done 18 thousand miles since we have owned it and just keeps on plugging away for us no matter what the weather. we live in the northeast and have had harsh snow conditions and it just keeps going gets kids to school me to college and the wife shopping. it has regularly been to our parents houses in gloucester some 255 miles fully loaded with 4 kids and assorted junk its comfortable reliable and very good on fuel.. i will definately buy another one when this one dies its death as this car will be with us till we expire or it does.

I am joiner so this car gives me the chance to cary all my tools with me and I still have lots of space in a boot . There is great place for kids - 2 rear seats . I am traveling a lot and car is comfy for long trips as well as for short ones . It is not too bad to run this car - tax is 210 per year , fuel is about 40 mpg (2L petrol) .Owerall rating would be 6 out of 5 =) . Good car .
