a3 cab tenick special edition

AUDI A3 1.6 TDI Technik 2dr (Review date: 9th March '12)

4.8

The Audi finish is somewhat beautiful in this car, the IPhone holder and bluetooth is super. On the lower spec models, the roof is not electric. Drives smooth with roof up or down. The only problem I have is that there is not enough room in the back for 4 four adults. My next one will be a A4 soft-top.

Pleasing to Drive and Better Made than the Competition

AUDI A3 1.8 T FSI 2dr (Review date: 19th January '12)

3.8

It's not a driver's car - if you want better handling and more power in an open top coupe look at a Boxster or an SLK. If you want a well-built convertible for two with luggage space for a week away then this a discretely pleasing choice. Smarter than a Golf, less chunky & more waterproof than an Eos, less flash than a BMW 1.

The hood is smooth and swift whilst Audi's version of VW's turbocharged 4 cylinder engine delivers power smoothly above 1500rpm. On slow exits at lower revs the turbo cuts in sharply making for jerky progress unless the clutch is engaged gently. Rear 3/4 vision with the hood up is poor, so look carefully in the mirrors for reverse parking and overtaking. The usual VAG Group problem with ESP should be fixed my now; also the electric windows can be a bit more up & down than expected. Classy.

I am still smiling.

AUDI A3 1.6 TDI Sport 2dr (Review date: 17th January '12)

Well I bought this car new almost 1 year ago, and I wrote a review about it with in the first month saying I was smiling.

I can still say that, that smile is even wider now.

The car has been faultless and the service excellent.

It had a recall early in it's life and Audi called to tell me.

They came and picked it up, did what ever they had too do, washed and valeted the car before returning it.

I have had a retro fit cruise control fitted by Audi and again it was washed and valeted before being returned.

The works well and the fuel returns are excellent. always around 55 mpg with mixed driving. This is deffinately the best car I have owned since I started driving, almost 38 years now.

Amazing all weather car

AUDI A3 1.2 T FSI Sport 2dr [Start Stop] (Review date: 12th October '11)

This head turner car is amazing to drive, and very economical to drive. The brilliant thing about this car is that it has a relatively small engine (1.2), but is really nippy and fast to drive with the sport turbo engine. The road tax is also incredibly reasonable due to the 1.2 engine.

It is a misconception that you can't have the roof down in England all year round. I have had the roof down on this car on average 2 times a week in the year that I have owned it, and I love it every time! The roof goes up and down incredibly quickly too, so it is not a hassle. I thought that having a soft top would be noisy when driving at high speeds (with the roof up) but it really isn't bad at all, I have been really impressed.

As with all Audi's, you can really feel the quality of the car when you drive it. The steering is solid and you feel really safe on the road.

Overall, this is a lovely car that doesn't guzzle petrol, is reliable and beautiful to boot!

Audi A3 Convertible

AUDI A3 2.0 TDI Sport 2dr (Review date: 22nd July '11)

Great car in the summer and still great fun in the winter with a very fast folding electric roof! Reliable with FSH and averages 40-45 mpg. Folding rear seats adds more luggage space when needed! Runs well in all conditions!

Great Audi Convertible, a pleasure to drive

AUDI A3 1.9 TDI Sport 2dr (Review date: 2nd July '11)

4.8

The Audi A3 Convertible is a fantastic car to drive. It has plenty of oomph and great to drive especially in the country. The roof is great and can be opened automatically even when driving (although you must be going a maximum of 17mph for th car to let you). I have mainly used the car at weekends, and is good for short drives but also for longer commutes (I regularly drive from London to Essex and back again). I suppose the only con i can give for this car is the height of the boot opening due to the roof having a place to be stored, but this is always going to be a factor when buying a convertible. With the back seats down though there is a huge amount of space. The back seats have isofix, and i have fitted a child seat in the back without difficulty.

The car is a diesel, which i was a little dubious about at first as had always driven petrol although now seeing how far my car can go (with a great mpg) has converted me!

It has been very reliable and i have not had any problems with the driving or practicalities of this car.

Treat Yourself

AUDI A3 1.2 T FSI 2dr [Start Stop] (Review date: 1st July '11)

And the family. A great small family car that is good fun in the summer and runs well too. Suitably impressed with the 1.2 engine which is a lot better than the 1.6 in the A3 I had previously. The only downside is the slightly mean spec that does not include a temperature guage.
