• Next year’s hybrid coupe prices announced
• Available to order now
• Power increase and updated styling

Prices and full details of next year’s revised Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe have been announced. The Sport model replaces the current ‘S’ trim as the base car, with every model benefitting from some styling and drivetrain updates for the new model year.

In an attempt to further the CR-Z’s sporting ambitions, the coupe’s 1.5-litre engine has been upped by seven bhp, from 112 to 119bhp. The electric motor’s power has also been increased by six bhp, from 14 to 20. Combined, the CR-Z now puts out 135bhp and 140ft/lb of torque. This means that the 0-62mph sprint has been reduced from 10 to 9.1 seconds although the top speed remains at 124mph.

Even though performance and power have increased, fuel economy and emissions have stayed the same. The Sport model averages 56.5mpg and 116g/km of CO2 and the GT manages 54.3mpg and 122g/km of CO2.

Next year’s CR-Z gets a re-designed front grille and bumper and the GT gets 17-inch alloy wheels as standard. Two new colours, Aurora Violet and Energetic Yellow are also available. While the interior has been subtly updated as well, with colour changes and increased storage options.

The new CR-Z is available to order now and will appear in showrooms in January next year, priced from £20,550 to £23,050 for the top-of-the-range GT.
