• Revised Z4 set to be launched at January’s Detroit Motor Show
• Updated Interior and exterior
• New 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine

The updated BMW Z4 sportscar has been unveiled ahead of its debut at next month’s Detroit Motor Show. BMW’s revised roadster features reinvigorated exterior features, a new interior and a brand-new entry-level model which includes a new engine.

On the outside, the main changes are new 17 and 18-inch light-alloy wheels and three new colour choices, while the M-Sport option pack gives the Z4 a more muscular stance. Inside, it now gets two-tone trim, with black and orange being particularly eye-catching. The new sportscar will also benefit from BMW’s ConnectedDrive package which features sat-nav and a host of internet-based information and entertainment services.

Under the bonnet, the big news is the introduction of a new base engine for the Z4, which will be dubbed the sDrive18i. This is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine which will produce 154bhp. This engine can be specced with ZF’s new 8-speed automatic gearbox, which will send power to the rear wheels only.
