• Facelifted RCZ to arrive in the UK in January 2013
• Hot RCZ R to arrive next Spring
• Costs from £21,595
The revised Peugeot RCZ will arrive in the UK in January next year. Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September, the RCZ coupe has had a mid-life facelift with a more dramatic nose, in keeping with the rest of the Peugeot family. A high performance RCZ R will also appear in Spring 2013.
Alongside the revised frontage, which now features the Peugeot wide front grille, the refreshed RCZ will get more choice on the options list, allowing customers to customise their cars more fully – something that is proving popular with customers, as the Fiat 500 and MINI range can testify.
The RCZ will come in two trim levels – Sport and GT. Sport spec gives you 18” wheels, dual zone air-con, rear parking aids as well as USB and Bluetooth connectivity. You also get automatic lighting and the option of trimming the interior with half leather or half leather/alcantara.
In the more popular GT trim level, you get 19”wheels as standard and the interior sports kit which gives you sports seats, a sports steering wheel and a sports gear lever. There is also now the option of speccing cohiba brown leather on the inside and matt black roof arches. The GT trim is also available with exterior stickers and decals as well as an increased number of alloy wheel choices.
Pricing has increased, however, on the Sport model, which now costs £21,595 (as opposed to £21,210 previously). The GT model stays the same, however, starting at £23,995 on the road.
The high-performance RCZ R will use a 258bhp version of the standard car’s 1.6-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine and is likely to have beefed up suspension to help it cope with the increased power.
Deliveries of the facelifted RCZ will start in January 2013, whilst the RCZ R is expected to arrive in Spring next year.
