New Alfa Romeo MiTo range revised for 2011
Tuesday 03 May 2011
• Turismo, Lusso, Veloce and Cloverleaf trims deleted
• Replaced by Progression, Sprint, Distinctive and Quadrifoglio Verde
• 85bhp 1.3-litre diesel emits tax-free 95g/km of CO2
The Alfa Romeo MiTo range has been streamlined from 17 models to nine, with updated trim levels and engines on offer. The cute Italian Supermini that rivals the MINI and Citroen DS3 also has a lower entry-level price of £12,250.

Turismo and Lusso trim levels have been replaced with Sprint versions, while the new entry-level model is known as Progression. Veloce and performance Cloverleaf models make way for Distinctive and Quadrifoglio Verde versions. The latter both get additional equipment including cruise control, sports pedals and rear parking sensors.
Progression and Sprint get a new 1.4-litre petrol engine with 78bhp and stop and start technology fitted as standard. It’s less powerful than the 95bhp 1.4-litre fitted previously, but has better fuel consumption and lower emissions.
The 1.4-litre MultiAir petrol with 105bhp is available in Sprint or Distinctive trims, while a new 1.3-litre JTDM-2 diesel engine produces 85bhp, is available only in Sprint trim and is free to tax thanks to low emissions of only 95g/km of CO2.
Also new is Metal Bronze, a distinctive paint colour available on Progression and Sprint MiTos, with a matching upholstery on offer.
