Chevrolet Cruze hatchback to debut at Paris
Monday 06 September 2010
Chevrolet has given its mid-sized Cruze broader appeal with the launch of a five-door version.
The hatchback Chevrolet Cruze will go up against budget-conscious models like the Kia Ceed and Hyundai i30 in what is Europe’s largest new car segment, dominated by cars like the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.
The five-door Cruze will debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show, and is likely to be shown with the same 1.8-litre petrol and 2-litre diesel engine found in other Chevrolet models.
The Cruze has a low, coupe-style roofline and short body overhangs. Inside it will have 400-litres of cargo space with the back seats folded. Its saloon sibling was awarded five stars for Euro NCAP safety crash testing.
Prices for the five-rood Chevrolet Cruze will be announced closer to its on-sale-date during the middle of 2011.
