Mugen, the semi-official tuning partner of Honda, is now selling its performance parts through eight UK Honda dealers for the current Civic Type-R.

Mugen has been producing performance parts since 1973, when it was founded by Hirotoshi Honda, son of Soichiro Honda, the Japanese giant’s founder. Mugen also produced Honda’s Formula 1 engines from 1992 to 2000.

Despite the company’s engine-tuning pedigree, none of the parts being officially imported to the UK will actually make your Civic Type-R any faster in a straight line. Forged aluminium wheels, performance brake pads, quick shift gearbox kits, uprated suspension and bodykits are the first parts to go on sale. More parts for a wider range of models will become available over the next 12 months.

All parts fitted by Honda dealers are covered by a 12month/10,000 mile warranty.
