Mitsubishi ASX: full details and prices
Wednesday 05 May 2010
Full details and prices for the new Mitsubishi ASX crossover have been announced before it goes on sale in the UK this July.
Mitsubishi claims that the ASX offers the best bits of a small family car, an estate and an SUV in one and is pitching it firmly at the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Skoda Yeti.
Two engines will be offered from launch – a 115bhp, 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.8 DiD diesel producing 147bhp. Most will be fitted with front-wheel drive, despite the ASX’s high-rising stance, with electric four-wheel drive available as an option on the diesel model.
The reduced weight and friction on a two-wheel drive system, standard stop and start technology and a relatively low weight help the 1.6-litre ASX to produce as little as 135g/km CO2.
Three trim levels – 2, 3 and 4 – will be offered, all with alloy wheels, air conditioning and stability control as standard. The ASX 3 adds climate control, heated seats, privacy glass, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic lights and wipers. The range-topping ASX 4 features full leather upholstery, an upgraded stereo, sat nav and a reversing camera.
