Nissan’s luxury brand has introduced the Infiniti EX30d – the company’s second diesel since its launch in the UK last year.

The Infiniti EX30d is fitted with the same 3-litre V6 turbodiesel engine as its big brother, the FX30d. With 235bhp and 406 lb/ft of torque, the EX30d accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and returns 33.2mpg on the combined cycle. CO2 emissions are 224 g/km making it the cleanest Infiniti to date.

Other than a reprofiled front bumper, the diesel-powered EX is visually identical to the petrol EX37. That means a relatively compact crossover with a jacked-up stance and a coupe-esque roofline.

Infiniti is also launching a new GT Premium trim level which adds adaptive cruise control, automatic brake assist and a lane departure prevention system. The latter steers the car back into its lane if the driver looses concentration.

But even without the GT Premium pack, the EX30d is packed full of equipment including a 7-speed automatic gearbox, xenon headlights, parking sensors, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric seats and cruise control.

Sales of the EX30d will start in July.
