The Jam legend’s Porsche Boxster for sale
Wednesday 14 April 2010
A Porsche Boxster previously owned by The Jam star Bruce Foxton is for sale on Auto Trader.
The rock legend was the first owner of the 2007 Porsche Boxster, which is powered by a 295bhp 3.4-litre engine.
This means that it is capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 169mph.
It comes fitted with a PCM sat-nav, 19-inch alloy wheels, parking sensors, heated leather seats and a Bose sound system.
Bruce Foxton’s Porsche Boxster is advertised for sale by Wokingham Car Centre Ltd, for £28,795. It comes with a full Porsche service history and has just 16,000 miles on the clock.
The jam formed in 1972 and consisted of Paul Weller, bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler.
Foxton’s prominent basslines were the foundation of many of the band’s biggest hits, including Down in the Tube Station at Midnight, The Eton Rifles, Going Underground and Town Called Malice.
They had 18 consecutive Top 40 singles in the United Kingdom, from their debut in 1977 to their breakup in 1982, including four number one hits.
In the late seventies, Foxton discovered The Vapors and co-managed the group with Paul’s father, John Weller. They will forever be remember for Turning Japanese, which hit the top three in the UK on the same week Going Underground was at number one.

After The Jam split, Foxton pursued a brief solo career, before joining punk band Stiff Little Fingers in time to record 1991’s Flags and Emblems. He remained with the band for fifteen years before announcing his departure in 2006, to be replaced by original bassist Ali McMordie.
Foxton isn’t the only rock star to have his car for sale on Auto Trader. Over the last couple of years Eric Clapton’s Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Pete Townshend’s Ferrari 550 Maranello, Rod Stewart’s Ferrari 575 Maranello, F430 and Bentley Arnage, Nick Mason’s Audi RS6 and Roger Daltrey’s Ferrari 246 Dino GTS have all been for sale on the site.
Right now, a Mercedes C43 AMG previously owned by The Who’s Roger Daltrey is for sale on Auto Trader.
There are currently more than 1,000 used Porsche Boxsters for sale on Auto Trader, with prices starting from just £5,600.
