C-Cactus concept shown alongside across-the-range changes

Citroen will be unveiling no less than five UK debuts on its British International Motor Show stand.

The most eye-catching is the C-Cactus concept car, an award-winning design study, which showcases Citroen’s ecological thinking.

The C-Cactus features components made from recycled materials and a hybrid motor which uses energy saved in batteries to make driving more efficient.

Visitors will be able to see the revised Citroen C2 too, the popular hatchback which has been given a fresh face for 2008.

The Citroen C2 VTS HDi is aimed at sporty drivers who want low-cost motoring. Its 1.6-litre diesel pumps out 110bhp and 192lb/ft of pulling power.

This accelerates it from 0-60mph in 9.4 seconds, and it can also achieve 64mpg while emitting just 119g/km of carbon dioxide – placing it in the £35 tax band B.

The Citroen Berlingo Multispace MPV takes over from the reigns of its successful predecessor, which sold 53,000 in the UK alone.

It’s a value MPV which has masses of space (a 675-litre boot for starters) and can seat five in comfort.

The British International Motor Show will also be the first place for most to see the new Citroen C5 saloon and tourer.

This important model is Citroen’s contender to the Ford Mondeo and Volkswagen Passat throne. We’ve driven it and you can read our full review.

The Citroen C5 will range from £15,595 and £24,395 and is available with 1.6, 2.0, 2.2 and 2.7 V6 diesel engines and a1.8 and 2-litre petrol.
