What is Fix-It?

Fix-It helps disadvantaged youth gain qualifications and return to mainstream education. Founded by Ian Tomlinson, the Wigan-based organisation is near our North West Auto Trader and Trader Media Digital offices.

Tomlinson recruits 15-18 year olds who aren’t in school and teaches them mechanics and budgeting. Fix-It now has a fully fitted workshop for repairing part damaged vehicles and enough space for woodwork, metal work and construction.

How We’ve Helped

Auto Trader’s online and print advertising has enabled Fix-It to sell repaired vehicles at a profit. For the last two years, Fix-It has awarded TMG with the Community Partnership Award.


The Dealer Edit Programme has enabled us to reach an extensive audience of potential purchasers – all were impressed with the achievements of the Trust and Auto Trader for supporting our endeavors.
