08 May 2008 A 186mph Spyker C8 Spyder supercar with one of the world’s greatest interiors is for sale on Auto Trader. The Spyker C8 Spyder's aircraft-inspired interior has a host of toggle switches and round dials complimented with quilted seats and exposed gear linkage. View more pictures of the Spyker C8 Spyder The Dutch supercar is powered by an Audi-derived 4.2-litre V8 engine producing 400bhp and 354lb/ft of pulling power. This power channelled to the rear wheels through a manual gearbox accelerates the tyre-smoking Dutchman from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 186mph. But while the performance is something to admire, it’s the design and interior of the Spyker C8 Spyder which get the most plaudits from onlookers. Spyker built fighter planes in World War One and the inside of a plane has been used as an inspiration for the C8’s interior.
Spyker was initially founded in 1898 as a coach builder in Amsterdam before moving on to cars and planes. However, the company folded in 1925 before being re-founded in 2000. The Spyker C8 Spyder on Auto Trader is for sale with Berkshire-based Broughtons who specialise in supercars away from the norm including the crazy Swedish brand Koenigsegg and cars modified by Milan styling house Zagato. Auto Trader is the number one destination for finding an interesting or rare car. Over the past month we've featured the latest Bentley Brooklands, the 257mph SSC Ultimate Aero and Pink Floyd legend Nick Mason's Audi RS6 Avant on the site. Now you can get your hands on this 2008 Spyker C8 Spyder, which only has delivery miles on the clock for £197,950. |
