Official: Audi TT Clubsport Quattro will be built
21 May 2008 Its official: the crazy roofless Audi TT Clubsport Quattro will go into production this year. The 300bhp four-wheel-drive Audi TT Clubsport Quattro – which we reported on last week – is an open-top roadster with no fixed or folding roof and features a rakish windscreen. This new Audi TT Clubsport Quattro promises to be one of the fastest production TTs ever – the German carmaker has boosted the 2-litre TFSI engine’s power to “break the magic 300bhp barrier", which is more than the first E36 BMW M3. The Clubsport Quattro TT also showcases Audi’s super-quick dual-clutch automatic gearbox – dubbed ‘DSG’ – with steering-wheel mounted shift paddles. Audi first showcased the roofless TT as a concept at the 2007 Essen motor show and will present a production-ready model at a meet for Audi and Volkswagen enthusiasts dubbed “Worthersee Tour”. Audi will also display the storming new Audi A3 TDI Clubsport Quattro, and the Audi R8 TDI Le Mans racecar. Audi has garnished the Clubsport Quattro TT’s interior with lashings of aluminium, including the gearshift paddles, door pull handles and pedals, and has fitted the steering wheel from the Audi RS4 and Lamborghini Gallardo. Audi has announced a limited production run of the hot new Audi TT Clubsport Quattro. View more images of the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro Check out the Audi TT convertible in action: |
