Get a five per cent discount with an M6 tag, which costs £1 per month

05 August 2008

With the M6 toll charge costing £4.50 for one car, we look at how YOU can save money on tolls.

Getting a tag fitted to your car can reduce the cost of major toll roads in the UK – we explain how it works.

What are tags?

Tags are small electronic devices which attach to your windscreen and are scanned when you pass a toll booth. Your bank account is charged with a reduced fee – and it means you won’t have to stop and pay by cash.

Each toll road will require its own tag – but not all toll roads have such schemes – especially private road tolls, where the owner can set their own charges.
