27 March 2008 Brand new pictures of the awe-inspiring Lamborghini Reventon have just been released and it looks more glorious than ever. The Lamborghini Reventon is based on the Murcielago LP640 but features a new body along with many unique features. Its 6.5-litre V12 engine accelerates it from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 211mph. View more pictures of the Lamborghini Reventon The aircraft-inspired Lamborghini Reventon has already featured in spectacular photographs, including a fly-by with a Tornado fighter jet, but the latest pictures show off its bodywork to even greater effect. Against an orange background of rubble and derelict buildings the sophisticated carbon-fibre bodywork of the £800,000 Lamborghini Reventon is a sledge-hammer blow of automotive design. The Reventon walked away with the award for World’s Most Beautiful Automobile 2007, after being introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Judges selected it for its “extreme, consistent, sharp-edged styling inspired by modern aeronautics – all features which make it a work of art.” Only 20 Reventons have been built, and each sells for just £30,000 less than the world’s fastest car – the Bugatti Veyron. Each car features bespoke parts including massive cooling ducts along the side of the car and carbon fibre wheels which act as a turbine when spinning to pull air onto the brakes and cool them down. The interior has an aviation inspired TFT display which replaces traditional dials and can display driving information in a traditional way, or in a way which mimics the cockpit in a jet fighter. Yesterday we brought you a sensational new Lamborghini Gallardo video. |
