Hyundai has revealed details of its all-new eight-seat MPV – the Hyundai i800.

And on top of the high seat count, the Hyundai i800 also has an enormous 851-litre boot making it ideal as an airport taxi.

Powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine, the Hyundai i800 boasts 178bhp and 289lb/ft of pulling power which should be helpful when the jumbo MPV is fully laden.

Hyundai also claims the rear-wheel drive i800 will average 33.2mpg meaning the 75-litre tank will last for an impressive 560 miles between visits to the fuel station.

The 5.1-metre motor features sliding doors with two front seats, followed by two rows of three.

The Hyundai i800 is the third of the Korean car maker’s i models, following in the tyre marks of the i10 city car and i30 hatchback. An i20 supermini will also be announced later this year as a rival to the Ford Fiesta and Mazda 2.

On sale on June 20th, the Hyundai i800 costs £19,495 and comes with the car maker’s five year, unlimited mileage warranty.

A lower powered, lower specced Hyundai i800 will be announced at a later date.
