It’s Easter weekend and what better way to spend it than getting your hands on an idol’s old car.
From boxing legend Mike Tyson to footballing heavyweight Wayne Rooney, Adrian Hearn rounds up the best celebrity motors for sale on Auto Trader.
Mike Tyson – Bentley Continental SC He’s one of the best, one of the most flamboyant and certainly one of the most controversial sportsmen ever. And Mike Tyson knows how to splash the cash. While he’s not spending £2,000 a month feeding his pet tiger, Iron Mike was buying luxury cars. And when he spent £300,000 on this Bentley Continental SC in 1999 he practically ticked every box on the extras list, including a wool carpet. Now you can get your hands on the knockout motor for £135,000. The news Mike Tyson’s old Bentley is on the market has gone global so get your hands on it before someone else does.
Wayne Rooney – Aston Martin Vanquish S Like Tyson, Manchester United and England hot shot Rooney is also a bit of boxer and is good mates with Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton – who he beat in an arm-wrestle. As with Tyson, Rooney likes to spend his earnings on flash gadgets. In his five years as a motorist, Rooney has owned a Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley Continental, Range Rover Sport, 150mph Mini GP and a Ford SportKa. But it’s his old Aston Martin Vanquish S (a gift from Coleen) which has found its way onto Auto Trader.
Rooney's Rides
Ian Wright – Aston Martin DB7 Footballers love Aston Martins. From John Terry and Steven Gerrard to David Beckham and the aforementioned Rooney, there’s something about owning a British sports car which appeals to the big bank balanced English soccer star. And Arsenal legend Ian Wright is one of the beautiful game’s most colourful characters. Wright owned this 1999 Aston Martin DB7 Alfred Dunhill edition which came with a cigar humidor and special bodykit to go with the 335bhp engine.
Jay Kay – Ferrari 360 Jamiroquai frontman and motoring aficionado Jay Kay loves his Ferraris. He counts three of the most exclusive Prancing Horses among his motoring collection – an F40, F50 and Enzo. But he decided not to keep his old Ferrari 360, which is still quite a car. With a thunderous 3.6-litre engine producing 400bhp at fever pitch, Jay Kay’s 2001 convertible Ferrari will despatch 62mph in 4.6 seconds before hitting 180mph.
Celebrity cars for sale on Auto Trader 2007
Patsy Kensit – BMW X5 Celebrities and footballers across the whole of Great Britain love the BMW X5. And with this black diesel model, you can get your hands on a Lethal Weapon star’s old wheels. Patsy Kensit – currently appearing in Holby City – was the first owner of the 128mph X5 which is fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels and cost £37,000 new. With 54,000 miles on the clock, Patsy’s old off-roader is on the market for £13,995.
Roger Daltrey – Ferrari Dino GTS It might be a 35-year-old car which costs £125,000 and has the same top speed as a Honda Civic Type-R, but there are few cars you’ll look cooler in than The Who’s frontman Roger Daltrey’s 146mph Ferrari Dino. The 2.4-litre V6 only produces 195bhp (just 15bhp more than a Toyota Avensis diesel) and does 0-60mph in 7.1 seconds (a Seat Leon Cupra does it in 6.8 seconds) but everyone will love you if you buy it.
These cars will be snapped up! We advertised Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard’s Range Rover Sport and it was sold with an hour to a Reds fan. And George Michael’s old BMW 7 Series which cost more than £90,000 also found a new home swiftly – for just £6,495.
