Crazy 725bhp Shelby Mustang – first pics
18 June 2007
by Adrian Hearn The creator of the infamous Shelby Cobra and GT500 has revealed his latest monster – the GT500 Super Snake. Based on the Ford GT500, While performance figure haven’t been revealed, the standard GT500 launches itself from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds on to a limited top speed of 155mph. With the limiters removed, we’d expect this muscle car to hit the 60mph mark in sub-4 seconds and reach a top speed in excess of 180mph. Sitting on 20-inch alloys, the Super Snake boasts a racing suspension, front and rear brake cooling ducts and side scoops to improve air intake. And it costs just $27,995 more than the standard model. Carroll Shelby, the master behind the company’s creations said: “Thanks to our partnership with Ford Racing, our Super Snake package will make the stock GT500 one of the most balanced, fastest, most fearsome muscle cars in the world. “I’m going to hunt Vipers and Corvettes with mine.” Available as standard with a five-speed manual gearbox, customers can switch to automatic as an optional extra.
