The first video footage of the brand new Ford Fiesta has been released.

The Ford Fiesta has topped British new car sales charts over the last three decades, and the new car should be no exception.

It’s the most technologically advanced Ford Fiesta ever, and there will be a model to suit all of its customers.

The public got to see it in the metal for the first time at the British International Motor Show as the covers were pulled back by pop singer Alesha Dixon, of Mis-Teeq fame.

It has a curvy new exterior which takes the ‘kinetic’ nose design from the bigger Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo

Ford has reversed the trend of each Fiesta model getting bigger and heavier – the new model weighs around 40kg less than its predecessor.

And, it will get a range of brand new engines which will emit less carbon dioxide than before, while providing more performance.

The latest Ford Fiesta Zetec S will now get 120bhp from its 1.6-litre petrol engine (a 20bhp increase), accelerating from 0-60mph in 9.9 seconds while achieving an average fuel consumption of 47.9mpg.

Lowest emitting of all with is the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic, which will produce just 98g/km of carbon dioxide, making it road tax exempt.

Using a 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine, it will achieve an incredible average fuel consumption of 76.3mpg.

Aerodynamic improvements including a lower ride height, wheel deflectors, aerodynamic wheel covers and new bumpers help the Fiesta ECOnetic slip through the air more efficiently.

And longer gearing works the engine less hard while cruising, while a diesel particulate filter and special engine computer software all contribute to its efficiency.

The all-new Ford Fiesta goes on sale in October and the range will start from £8,695.
