Ultimate Lamborghini Murcielago for sale
07 October 2009
A Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is for sale on Auto Trader.
Lighter, faster and more powerful than any other Murcielago, the LP 670 is the last hurrah for the Murcie which is expected to be replaced next year.
It made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and has one of the longest car names ever, but it’s not just a random selection of words:
• Lamborghini: Company name
• Murcielago: A famous ‘Miura’ bull
• LP: represents the longitudinally mounted engine
• 670: Horsepower
• -4: Four-wheel drive
• SuperVeloce: It’s bloody quick
With power channelled to all four wheels, the Murcielago will accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds – making it the fastest production Lambo off the line ever.
And it keeps on going all the way to 212mph.
To help boost performance, Lamborghini put the LP 670 on a crash diet, slashing 100kg from the car’s weight with 33kg reduced from the chassis and exterior, 34kg from the interior and 33kg removed from the engine and drivetrain.
Carbon ceramic disc brakes sit behind the Lambo’s 18-inch alloy wheels to give the hypercar awesome stopping power.
You get those legendary upwards-opening Lambo doors but the Murcielago’s body has been engineered slightly for greater downforce and on-road presence.
The front spoiler has been enlarged and there is a twin rear diffuser but one of the standout features is the huge exhaust pipe which lets out the most amazing sound.
And you can peer at the magnificent V12 powerplant thanks to a transparent engine cover.
Just 350 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloces will ever be built and this is the first used model to go up for sale on Auto Trader.
Available through Lamborghini Manchester, this one owner LP 670 – which has 1,300 miles on the clock – is yours for £290,000.
