Renault Wind to debut at Geneva

Renault Wind to debut at Geneva - News image

02 February 2010

This is the Renault Wind – a new coupe-convertible which will go on sale in the summer.

It features two seats, engines from the Renault Twingo and a folding electric roof which will open in 12 seconds.

Drivers will have a choice of two engines:

• 1.2-litre TCE 100 (99bhp, 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds and a top speed of 125mph)
• 1.6-litre 133 (131bhp, 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 125mph)

Renault says the Wind is aimed at drivers “who lust after a car that is not only distinctive and compact, but also convertible and practical enough for everyday use.”

The French car maker has yet to confirm a price for the Wind, but it will go directly up against the Peugeot 207 CC which currently starts at £17,095.

A different Renault Wind concept car was shown off at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, but never entered production.

The Renault Wind will make its debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show on March 2.
