Lamborghini Murcielago – Batman’s other car
18 July 2008 When not behind the wheel of the Batmobile, Bruce Wayne will be driving a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 in the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne – whose alter-ego fights for justice in crime-stricken Gotham City – gets the hottest Lamborghini Murcielago, which is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 640bhp and 487lb/ft of pulling power. The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 - which sits above the Gallardo in the Lambo line-up - would have set Batman’s law-abiding persona back a whopping £192,000. But this would mean nothing to the fictional character Bruce Wayne, who inherited millions after the murder of his super-rich parents. Lamborghini Reventon - latest pics The infamous Batmobile in The Dark Knight is a 2.5-tonne, custom-built ex military vehicle powered by a 5.7-litre V8 which will launch the six-wheeled monster from 0-60mph in five seconds. The Dark Knight is director Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to Batman Begins and stars British actor Christian Bale as the vigilante with Sir Michael Caine playing his butler Alfred. However, Bale and Caine’s performances have been overshadowed by the Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger who died during the filming of the film. Many critics who have seen the film stateside are tipping Ledger with winning a posthumous Oscar. The Dark Knight opens in the UK on July 24.
