This is the fastest ever Aston – the stunning Aston Martin Vantage RS, which will hit UK roads next year.

The baby Aston Martin V8 Vantage gets a supercar makeover – the standard 4.3-litre V8 has been replaced by a monster 6-litre V12 as seen in the Aston Martin DBS.

But Aston’s engineers have upped the standard V12 engine’s power from 510bhp to a supercar-rivalling 600bhp – 220bhp more than the V8 Vantage – meaning a 0-62mph sprint in just four seconds.

And while Aston has not released its top speed, it is expected to hit 200mph.

On the outside, Aston Martin has fitted a deployable spoiler which rises automatically at high speeds to increase downforce, while the front bumper gets cooling ducts for the car’s ceramic disc brakes.

Aston Martin unveiled the stunning Vantage RS concept at its new design centre last year, and took the bonkers concept to the 2008 Geneva motor show.

Aston Martin chief Dr Ulrich Bez said if feedback was good Aston “would seriously consider a low volume production run in the near future with a price reflecting the exclusivity of the car”.

And following a warm reception, bosses have confirmed the V12-engined Vantage RS will hit UK showrooms by the end of 2009.

Prices have not been announced for the Aston Martin Vantage RS, but it’s likely the V12 variant will be Aston’s most expensive model, topping the £165,000 asking price for the hot DBS, which shot to fame in the 2006 hit James Bond adventure Casino Royale.
