"Thankfully the only thing hurt was the car and a bush fence, for which I am extremely sorry." Hertfordshire Police said they were called at 2.47pm on Wednesday. A spokesman said: "The driver has been spoken to as part of routine inquiries." Lewis Hamilton said: "As far as I know he's fine." Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Lewis Hamilton said: "I got Dad's email yesterday and I just laughed. "He is not one to make mistakes. He is a very good driver but I don't know what he was up to." Lewis Hamilton added: "I have never raced him on the track. We raced go-karts together years ago but he was terrible."
