This is the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S – a new flagship 174mph super off-roader added to the German car maker’s 4x4 range.

Sitting above the standard Turbo, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S produces a colossal 550bhp and 553lb/ft of pulling power from the twin-turbocharged 4.8-litre V8 engine – more than the 204mph Porsche 911 GT2.

This accelerates the 2.5-ton Porsche Cayenne Turbo S from 0-62mph (100kph) in 4.8 seconds – the same as a BMW M3 Coupe.

And while the BMW M3 is electronically-limited to a top speed of 155mph, the Porsche Cayenne isn’t so it will hit 174mph.

To give the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S awesome stopping power, it has been fitted with monster 410mm ceramic front brakes on the front – larger than the wheels on a standard Ford Focus – and housed inside a set of 21-inch alloys.

Despite increasing power and performance, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S boasts the same fuel efficiency and carbon emissions as the standard Turbo.

It will average 18mpg and emit 358g/km of carbon dioxide – meaning an annual tax bill of £400 and a £25 charge to enter the London Congestion Charge zone when the rules change in October.

However, Porsche has launched a judicial review over Ken Livingstone’s congestion charge increase, describing it as ‘disproportionate’ and ‘an illegal tax by the mayor.’

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show and will go on sale in August with prices expected to be around the £90,000 mark.
