Corsa C'mons at top awards - Vauxhall Corsa scoops top award

The Vauxhall Corsa scooped top honours in an awards ceremony dubbed the 'motoring Oscars'.

Vauxhall's latest supermini beat 13 other category winners to take the gong at a successful night for British-built cars.

Steve Fowler, group editor at What Car, the show's organisers said: "The Corsa may be a small car, but its talents are huge. It's spacious, refined, well built and good value.

"It's also strong on safety, environmentally-friendly and looks great."

It was an excellent night for British car makers, with Land Rover taking both Compact and Large 4x4 awards while the Brit-built Mini Cooper S was named as the top Hot Hatch.

Open-Top - Volkswagen Eos 2.0 T FSI
Performance Car - Porsche Cayman S
MPV - Citroën C4 Picasso 1.6 HDI SX EGS
Compact Executive - BMW 320d ES
Executive Car - BMW 525i SE auto
Luxury Car - Mercedes S320 CDI
Green Award - Toyota / Lexus
Safety Award - Mercedes
Overall Car of The Year - Vauxhall Corsa

  • The Bentley Continental GTC has scooped two prestigious awards in America and Italy. It received a special design award from L'Automobile piu Bella del Mondo (The World's Most Beautiful Automobile), while the US luxury lifestyle magazine, Robb Report judged it to be their car of the year.
