Seat has unveiled its most economical car – the Ibiza Ecomotive.

Powered by an ultra-clean 1.4-litre diesel engine, the Ibiza emits just 99g/km of carbon dioxide while managing a whopping 74.3mpg on a combined cycle.

This places the Ibiza into Tax Band ‘A’, making it tax-free.

And under new proposals, the Ibiza will be exempt from the London Congestion Charge.

These figures are achieved by fitting a Diesel Particulate Filter to reduce emissions, installing new software to the car’s onboard computer, and lengthening the gear ratios.

Special Dunlop tyres have been fitted to the Ibiza, designed to reduce road friction.

The 1.4-litre diesel engine in the Seat is also used in its sister car, the Polo Bluemotion, which manages 72mpg while emitting 102g/km of carbon dioxide.
