The Nissan X-Trail has underlined its suitability as a family vehicle by scoring the joint highest ever points for child protection in the latest Euro NCAP crash tests.

The Nissan SUV has been awarded four out of a maximum five stars in the adult protection, and the child occupant protection assessments.

Maximum points were scored in side impact and pole crash tests.

The Nissan X-Trail is manufactured in Kyushu, Japan and features active and passive safety equipment including front, side and curtain airbags.

Introduced into Europe in June 2007, this is the second generation X-Trail.
