Renault launches new Laguna
|
22 October 2007 Renault has launched the all-new Laguna – with prices starting from £15,990. Engines powering the new generation Laguna include a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 170bhp, and a 2-litre diesel, producing 150bhp and returning 47.1mpg on the combined cycle – which is likely to be the biggest seller. And Renault has also opened the order books on the load-lugging Laguna variant – the Sport Tourer. It will feature Renault’s Super-fold system, enabling the rear seats to fold down by pulling a small lever concealed in the rear hatch – opening up a completely flat load area of 1,593 litres. The new Laguna sports a more dramatic design than its predecessor, with the French carmaker claiming that the 2-litre diesel variant will retain 32.1 per cent of its value over 3 years/60,000 miles – 1 per cent higher than a comparable Ford Mondeo. All Lagunas will come with a standard 3-year/100,000 mile warranty. And buyers won’t be put out of pocket when it comes to insuring the new Renault Laguna – its insurance groupings have recently been re-rated. For both the Hatch and Sport Tourer models, they now range from 7E up to 11E for the range-topping 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
