Renault has announced information on its butch new MPV; and Auto Trader has all the official pictures.

The Renault Scenic Conquest is pitched at outdoor pursuit enthusiasts with its rugged SUV-influenced styling and jacked-up suspension.

Although still a front-wheel drive MPV, the Conquest's suspension has been raised by 20mm so it can tackle potholes and muddy ruts.

This off-road tenacity is reflected in the Conquest's styling, with chunky bumpers, side protection strips and roof bars.

Two engines will be available when the Conquest launches in June; a 2-litre, 136bhp petrol and a 1.9-litre 130bhp diesel; the latter returning more than 47mpg.

Renault has confirmed the Scenic Conquest is available to order now, and will be priced between £17,945 and £19,135.

The Scenic Conquest is the latest French SUV-alike MPV, which started with the Matra-Simca Rancho in 1977.
