Porsche has lifted the lid on its latest convertible - the 911 Turbo Cabriolet.

Powered by a 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged engine, the Porsche produces 480bhp and 501lb/ft of pulling power.

The Teutonic supercar - with its tiptronic gearbox – accelerates from 0-62mph (100kph) in 3.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 193mph.

The 911’s chassis has been tuned specifically for its use as a convertible and boasts active suspension, Porsche stability management and traction control - with power channelled to all four wheels.

The convertible weighs 70kg more than the coupe – and uses the same brakes as the £330,000 Porsche Carrera GT hypercar.

The 911’s soft-top roof opens or closes in just 20 seconds.

Equipment on the topless German includes extra powerful bi-xenon headlights, 19-inch alloys, air conditioning, leather interior, sat-nav, and an ultra-cool Bose sound system.

The 911 Cabriolet will cost £106,180 and goes on sale in September.
