Pulsating Peugeot coupe concept revealed
31 July 2007 Click here for more pics of the Peugeot 308 RC Z Peugeot will have petrolheads salivating uncontrollably with its latest concept, judging by these awesome pictures. Looking like a squashed Audi TT, the 308 RC Z is a 2+2 coupe offering über-cool looks and pulsating performance, while producing low carbon emissions. Powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, the RC Z produces 218bhp and 206lb/ft of pulling power. Coupled with an all-new six-speed gearbox, the French coupe accelerates from 0-62mph (100kph) in 7.1 seconds before running out of steam at 146mph. And it’s impressively frugal managing a combined 42.2mpg while emitting 160g/km of carbon dioxide – much less than the 140mph Peugeot 307 CC Sport. On the outside, the coupe is dominated by a pair of huge headlights and Peugeot’s trademark gaping mouth grille and sits on 19-inch alloy wheels. To the rear, the rabid Pug has a centrally mounted twin exhaust pipe and a rump reminiscent of the Audi TT. The standard 308 will be launched at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
