Nissan will showcase a revised Micra supermini and two concept cars at this year's Frankfurt motor show.

The subtly restyled Micra will feature external, interior and equipment changes, an improved stereo with MP3 compatibility, and an audible warning that sounds when the car exceeds a pre-programmed speed limit.

The model line-up has also been adjusted to four trims, putting it in line with the Qashqai and Note ranges. They are Visia, Acenta, Tekna and Active Luxury.

No prices or on-sale dates have been released.

Mixim match
Nissan will exhibit the Mixim concept car.

Described as a vehicle for young drivers who are computer- and internet-savvy, the car features computer game-style controls.

The car has a central driving position, with two passengers seated either side. The wraparound windscreen is said to be inspired by a motorbike helmet.

It weighs 950kg and is shorter and lower than the Micra, but slightly wider. Separate electric motors power the front and rear axles, giving four-wheel drive.

Colour + co-ordinated
Nissan will also show off Colour + Concept, a new paint style described as 'extreme metallic'. It gives the appearance of being a liquid, and the effect is achieved using a special pigment.

The concept car also makes use of white leather seats and striking carpet colours such as acid yellow, which contrast with pale upper dashboard sections.
