12 December 2007 Put it in your diary – the British Motor Show opens its doors at London’s ExCeL exhibition centre for the second time. The world’s carmakers will return to London’s Docklands from the 23rd July to the 3rd August for the show which will play host to more than 600 exciting new cars, and 500,000 visitors. More than 60 car manufacturers will be aiming to dazzle the crowd with their products throughout the modern exhibition halls and outdoor display areas. Once all the static stands have been pored over there are many live action events taking place to entertain the crowd. A heritage enclosure and parade will be showing off the glorious sights and sounds of supercars from the past 50 years, while a unique drift school will give visitors the chance to be driven sideways on a demanding circuit by professional drivers. Other popular attractions from the 2006 show make a comeback, including the live-action motor theatre, a challenging 4x4 off-road experience, the Autoglym supercar paddock and the Motor Show music festival – featuring famous live acts in a purpose-built dockside arena. Show marketing director Kirsty Perkinson said: “When the show returned to London last year, after 30 years away from the capital, the public demonstrated its appetite for high quality, interactive exhibition of the best the motoring world has to offer. “Our objective for 2008 is to deliver an even better experience for show-goers.” “We expect to increase the number of world vehicle debuts, building on the 14 unveilings in 2006.” |
