|
11 July 2007 The four-wheel-drive system is called Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) and has three modes: asphalt, gravel and snow. Working with other systems on the car such as stability control and an active centre differential, the system improves traction. The new twin-clutch gearbox (called Sport Shift Transmission, or SST) allows for faster and more fuel-efficient gearchanges. It's similar to VW's DSG box, with one clutch selecting first, third and fifth gears and another second, fourth and sixth. The gearbox has three modes, offering increasing performance: Normal, Sport and S-Sport. The Evo X will have a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, but details of its power have not yet been released. The car is expected to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. |
