Its official: Mini outperforms Porsche.

Over three years, the Mini One retains a staggering 66 per cent of its original value. The plucky supermini outperforms both the Porsche Boxster 2.7 and Honda Jazz 1.3 DSI which retain just 62 per cent each.

The report published by trade pricing bible EurotaxGlass’s, calculates how much of the original price a car will lose based on their performance, build quality and desirability.

Spokesman Richard Crosthwaite said: “In value terms the Mini has achieved a remarkable performance, particularly for a car that is now in its fifth year.

“In terms of residual value, it is rare for a car to outperform the best of the prestige sector, particularly the established star performers such as Porsche.”

The new Mini has been a massive success for the British motor industry selling more than 800,000 vehicles worldwide since 2001.
