Power boost for diesel Mini

Power boost for diesel Mini - News image

23 June 2005

The diesel Mini will get a power boost this September and, like the rest of the range, will also get more equipment and become more expensive.

The re-tuned engine has 20% more power - up 13bhp to 88bhp. This means the diesel Mini cuts nearly two seconds off its 0-60mph sprint time, which is currently 13.7sec. Despite the performance increase, the Mini maintains its fuel efficiency of 58.9mpg on the combined cycle.

The increased power has a price, however. The diesel will cost around £12,200, up from the current £11,695.

Prices for the rest of the Mini range will rise by an average of 2%, bringing the entry-level Mini One to £10,995.

A single-disc CD player and passenger-airbag deactivation switch will also be fitted as standard in all Minis.
