Sneak peek of Mazda’s new Mondeo rival

Mazda has revealed the first and only official picture of its all-new 6 saloon.

Targeting the Ford Mondeo, the Japanese saloon bears frontal similarities with the brilliantly-sleek RX-8 coupe.

Mazda are keeping tight-lipped and not revealing any engine or performance details of the 6 ahead of its launch at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

But we’d expect there to be a 1.8-litre and 2-litre petrol along with a more frugal, diesel model.

And Auto Trader anticipates a super-hot MPS model, with a top speed in excess of 150mph.

The all-new Mazda 6 will goon sale later on this year, with prices to be announced nearer the time.
