Here are the first photos of the all-new Honda Accord Tourer, set to burst into showrooms later this year.

Honda claims to have moved the Accord upmarket with its new model, taking the fight to premium German carmakers BMW and Audi.

The teaser shots are enough to confirm the Honda Accord Tourer will bare a strong resemblance with the Tourer Concept we saw at last year’s Frankfurt motor show.

It will have a modern appearance, with funky LED rear lights, jewel-like headlights and edgy body styling.

Brushed aluminium roof rails add a contemporary ‘lifestyle’ feel, while sporty tailpipes hint at performance.

Inside, Honda says it has raised the bar and created an interior using carefully selected materials to achieve, ‘an outstanding level of fit and finish’.

Honda also think passengers will be happy, thanks to a healthy provision of personal space and a comprehensive package of safety features.

We expect the Honda Accord Tourer to offer a line-up of modern, low emissions and highly fuel efficient engines, in keeping with the rest of the range.

Current Honda petrol engines, including a 2-litre with around 150bhp and 2.4-litre with almost 190bhp, will be seen under the Accord Tourer’s bonnet.

Honda’s 2.2-litre diesel engine with 138bhp and 251lb/ft of pulling power will also be available.

The finalised car will be shown to the world at the Geneva motor show on March 4th and our man Stuart Milne will be there to bring you all the latest on the Honda Accord Tourer, as it happens.

It is expected to go on sale later this year for between £20k and £30k.
