The all-new Honda Jazz has been announced and is gearing up for an October launch.

It is claimed the new Honda Jazz will be even more practical and have more interior space than before.

More than 160,000 of the current model have been sold since its launch in 2001, and the Honda Jazz has received more than 30 industry awards praising its design and reliability.

From the outside it’s distinguished by curvier lines disguising its increased size – 35mm longer and 20mm wider.

This increased size gives interior space a boost, and there is now a ‘double-trunk’ boot which can be configured in four ways depending on the size and shape of your luggage.

The engines on offer will be small and efficient, but there won’t be a diesel model at launch.

Honda’s 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines produce 89bhp and 99bhp and can achieve an average fuel consumption of 55.4mpg and 54.3mpg respectively.

Emissions are low, with the 1.2-litre (120g/km) in tax band B, costing only £35 and the 1.4-litre (123g/km) in tax band C, which costs £120.

To help drivers get the best fuel economy, an indicator light on the dashboard serves as a visual prompt for gear changes.

Inside, rear passengers now have more legroom. Visibility for the driver has been improved by making the windscreen larger, and by making the pillars surrounding it narrower.

Some models will come with a panoramic roof, and all will get a redesigned cabin with a new dashboard design.

Safety levels will be high, with front, side and side curtain airbags standard on all models.

The official unveiling will take place at the Paris Motor Show in October, and the Honda Jazz will go on sale soon after with prices close to those of the current model.

It will compete in a hard-fought sector against cars including the Toyota Yaris, Nissan Note and Peugeot 207.
