The Honda Civic Hybrid has been named the greenest car in Britain for the second year running.

The Japanese hatchback finished ahead of the Vauxhall Corsa 13.CTDi and Toyota Yaris 1.4 Diesel at the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) awards show.

Winners and losers are decided on the car’s engine size, fuel consumption, noise pollution and safety impact on pedestrians.

But spare a thought for Lamborghini. The Italian supercar maker had the two WORST cars – the Diablo and Murcielago Roadster.

The ETA’s Andrew Davis said: “It is not surprising the winner this year again is the Honda Civic Hybrid.

“What is more striking is the huge range between the best and worst cars in Britain today.”

Other category winners include the Toyota RAV4 diesel (Greenest Off-Roader) and Jaguar XJ 2.7 diesel (Greenest Luxury Car).
